Streetscape at Pinnacle Site

In 2016, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development awarded the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency a grant to help fund an infrastructure and streetscape project in the center of the city. DECD is providing $3 million in grant funding and the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency and City of Norwalk are providing an additional $1 million to fund the project. The infrastructure and streetscape work will include upgrading and undergrounding utilities, roadway repairs and restriping, improvements to sidewalks to meet City design standards, planting of street trees, and enhancements to crosswalks. This work will occur on West Avenue and Berkeley, Orchard, Quincy, and Butler Streets.

This $4 million investment in public infrastructure will support the Pinnacle, a 560,000 square foot private mixed-use development located at 467 West Avenue. The Pinnacle will contain 393 residential units, over 25,000 square feet of storefront commercial space for retail outlets, businesses, and restaurants, and a 576-space parking garage. As of 2021, some initial electrical work and site preparation activity has occurred, while construction of the remaining streetscape improvements and the Pinnacle are expected to begin in 2022.
